Attorney Recruiting

Leatherwood hires only those associates it expects to become shareholders.  The firm's hiring practices reflect this philosophy.  We typically hire from 2 to 5 associates per year, a number consistent with our conservative growth history.  As part of the firm's continuing effort to evaluate client's needs and areas of growth within our practice, new associates are requested to devote their attention to one or two specific practice areas.  These decisions result from the expressed interest of the incoming associate matched with the firm's needs.  Recruitment of first-year associates includes on-campus interviews, in-office interviews, and consideration of law graduates who are completing federal and state judicial clerkships.  Lateral hiring is also a part of our growth plan to address special needs.
