Steven E. Farrar

Mr. Farrar is an experienced trial lawyer and his practice focuses on complex cases. He routinely works on cases involving complicated business litigation, professional liability defense, and major products liability issues. He has tried numerous cases including, among others, fighting charges of securities fraud and improper corporate activity, defending accountants and lawyers in malpractice actions, and defending automobile manufacturers from product liability exposure. In addition, he has served as counsel for a federally appointed Receiver in a criminal action, and in that role he helped recover millions of dollars for defrauded investors. Mr. Farrar is a certified civil mediator. Prior to attending law school Mr. Farrar served as a Certified Public Accountant for a multinational accounting firm.

Civic & Charitable Activities

Mr. Farrar has been active in numerous activities, including service for several years as President of the South Carolina Special Olympics, was on the Board of Directors of Project Host Soup Kitchen, and served as legal advisor for the Metropolitan Soccer Association and St. Giles Soccer Club.  He has also been active in both University of Richmond and University of Virginia Athletic Alumni Associations activities and church activities.  He graduated from Leadership Greenville and also served as a member of Board of Regents for Leadership Greenville.

Professional Activities

  • Member and Vice President of the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel. The FDCC membership consists of defense counsel in private practice, in-house corporate and insurance counsel. The FDCC is committed to working closely with the corporate world to develop the skills of lawyers representing Corporate America.
